I recently had surgery to re-position clean out, and biopsy my uterus. Trust me it was not as fun as it sounds. Anyhow, I was extremely nervous about being put under anesthesia which isn't usual for me. I typically have complete faith in the whole hospital and doctors....in fact I did for this surgery too. What lacked was my confidence in my own health. I wondered if my heart could handle it and if my uterus would be repairable.
Okay enough of the build up.
I was put out in the surgery room and woke up in the recovery room with a doctor at my bedside. He informed me that my blood pressure and pulse rate have been at stroke level during the whole operation and he had given me 3 doses of blood pressure medicine in an hours time. He then gave me pain medicine and my blood pressure instantly went into a more normal range. That really scared me though. I focus so much on my mental health that I forget how important physical health is. I need to do some light cardio workouts to strengthen my heart.
I go back to the doctor in a couple of weeks to go over all the test results. I pray all is well and that a baby can be in our near future.
Oh, come in
It is an honor to have you. The contents for this blog are from my personal experiences. Sometimes I will write about being bipolar and sometimes I won't.
I have been Bipolar I for 10+years and medicated for over 9. This blog looks into my treatment history, current therapies, my interest, recipes, love, music, and everything in between. I am hoping that those dealing with mental illness will find comfort, friendship, awareness, entertainment, and maybe even a few good answers. Most importantly, I hope those of you out there struggling will realize you are not alone.

Pink, glad your OK. I did a lot of light walking , then walking after my heart-attack. Also tons of swimming. Lost weight and got on a decent heart medication. Physical health is very important. Also had to work on the mental side of handling stress. I hope you regain your health.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you xx P
ReplyDeleteSo glad you got through that, I bet it was very scary. I’ve always been scared of being put under, I think it has to do with not being in control and something terrible going wrong. Hopefully this is just a small setback and the results bring good news for a baby in your future.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you had to go through this and glad you have come out the other side. I hope your wishes for a baby come true.
ReplyDeleteKristy: Walking is definitely something I can do and need to do a lot more of! I am so happy your regimen helped to level out your blood pressure. Thank you for sharing and being there for me.
ReplyDeleteNic: I hug you right back Pixie!!
Mama Bear: Me too. I can't wait for next week to find out the results. I am confident all is well....I hope it is.
Jojesek: Oh I do too. It was nerve wrecking to know I could have stroked out on the table but they took great care of me. Thank you as always for your kind words.
I am so glad that you are okay!
ReplyDeleteSometimes we neglect our physical health, to focus on our mental health and it is not a good thing at all.
Glad that you are better now, and that aside from that hope surgery went well.
I'm sorry you had to go through all that, and am glad that you're OK now. Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteIt's easy for me to neglect my physical health and fitness when I focus on my mental health.
Yaya: Me too, I was really scared about blood pressure because it is an ongoing problem even with medication. But the surgery did go well. Thank you for your kindness Yaya.
ReplyDeleteTFB: I am just happy it is over with now and I am feeling better. I hope we can both manage both aspects of ourselves and come out on top. hehe if only it were that easy.
I havent been reading long but I am interested and hoping to hear about the results of your procedure. What did you find out. I am also happy for you that you got a new computer and will look forward to hearing more from you
ReplyDeleteRaine: Thank you so much for reading and caring...that means a great deal to me. I was just working on a post that goes over the results (which are hopeful). And I love having my own personal computer again. My man is a gamer so he utilizes both his desktop and laptop often and usually at the same time.
